Choppiness Index Regime
E. W. Dreiss's Choppiness Index compares the sum of the bars' true ranges with the net high-low range of the window. Price that zig-zags inside a box scores high (choppy, consolidating); price that travels far scores low (trending). Scale 0-100, Fibonacci levels 61.8 / 38.2.

How to use it
Above 61.8 = chop: prefer mean-reversion, avoid breakout entries. Below 38.2 = strong directional move (often late in the move). A drop from above 61.8 marks energy being released: watch for breakouts. Length 14 is the classic default; 20-28 is steadier on 15m crypto. Concept: E. W. Dreiss, Choppiness Index (1990s), based on fractal geometry.
