Cultural Holidays and the Gold Drift (GLD)
This strategy trades the gold ETF (GLD) around four big gift-giving holidays: Christmas Eve, Lunar New Year, Diwali and Eid al-Fitr. It buys at the close a few weekdays before each holiday and sells at the close the weekday after. The rest of the year it sits in cash, so it only holds gold for a few days at a time.
