Elder Impulse System
Alexander Elder's Impulse System colours each bar from two votes: the slope of a 13-period EMA (trend / inertia) and the slope of the MACD histogram (momentum / acceleration). Both rising = green impulse, both falling = red impulse, mixed = blue (neutral). Elder's rule is about what NOT to do: no shorts on green bars, no longs on red bars.

How to use it
Use it as a permission filter: in an up trend, enter longs on blue or green bars after a pullback, and stay out while bars are red. The arrows mark the first green bar after a red run and vice versa. Defaults are Elder's: EMA 13 and MACD (12, 26, 9). Concept: Dr. Alexander Elder, "Come Into My Trading Room" (2002).
