Fisher Transform Reversal Oscillator

Ehlers' Fisher Transform turns price's position inside its recent range into a nearly Gaussian distribution, so turning points show up as sharp, well-defined peaks instead of the flat tops of a stochastic. The trigger line is the previous bar's value; a cross of the two after an extreme reading flags a likely swing turn.

How to use it

Look for a cross down from above +threshold (swing top) or a cross up from below -threshold (swing bottom). In strong trends use only the crosses in the trend's direction. Length 10 is Ehlers' value; the 1.5 threshold keeps roughly the most extreme 15-20% of readings on crypto. Concept: J. Ehlers, "Using the Fisher Transform", Stocks & Commodities (Nov 2002).
