Liquidity Sweeps

Stops and breakout orders cluster just beyond obvious swing highs and lows. A sweep is a candle whose wick runs through such a swing level but whose body closes back on the original side: the resting orders were taken and price was rejected. Each swing level can be swept once; levels older than the maximum age are forgotten. A minimum wick beyond the level (in ATR) filters out mere touches.

How to use it

A sweep of a swing low followed by a bullish structure break is a classic reversal set-up (mirror for highs). Sweeps INTO a strong trend (e.g. high swept in an up trend) are often just pauses. Pivot length 5 and 0.1 ATR penetration suit 15m-1h crypto. Concept: Stop-run / "liquidity grab" behaviour around swing points (Wyckoff's spring and upthrust, R. D. Wyckoff, 1930s).
