Schaff Trend Cycle (STC)
Doug Schaff's Trend Cycle applies a double stochastic to the MACD line: it asks where the MACD sits inside its own recent range, smooths that, and repeats once more. The result swings between 0 and 100 much faster than MACD while keeping its trend logic, with long flat stretches at the extremes during trends.

How to use it
A rise through 25 = bullish cycle turn; a fall through 75 = bearish turn. Staying pinned at 100 / 0 = strong trend, do not fade. Defaults (23, 50, cycle 10, factor 0.5) are Schaff's published values; on 15m crypto a cycle of 12 removes some noise. Concept: Doug Schaff, "Schaff Trend Cycle" (FX Strategy, 1990s); described in Stocks & Commodities and in many textbooks.
